Lots of covers out there including George Strait of course. And, of course, George Strait’s remake was fantastic. I was not a big fan of country music as a kid, but I remember thinking what a good song that was. It had to be Terry Stafford’s original version, as we were returning to Ohio from a long 4th of July weekend in 1974.
It was on the radio as we passed through Louisville, KY.
